Nguyet Vuong

Nguyet is pronounced “new-way” - I created this pronunciation in an attempt to solve my 5th grade peers’ problems of pronouncing a Vietnamese name. It’s been a part of my identity ever since. An artist by nature, I became a designer by trade. I got into the web in college and never looked back.

I've experienced a lot in my lifetime, and like to bring my artist's eye and joy in the world to my creative process. With my childhood in Asia and most of my school years in the US, I grew up with two very different cultures and a broad perspective on the world. I've worked for a university, small corporations, big corporations, and non-profits.

I am a creative problem solver. I have a dogged determination that shows in the details of what I do. I enjoy learning about the world and the web, and I try to combine my lifelong education with art and design to make the world a more beautiful, usable place. I strive for constant positive change in my environment and am annoyed by stagnation. I want each project to be better than the last, and want to continue to excel in what I do every time I do it. I like to think my work reflects all these qualities.

I try to help causes I believe in, and contribute to the design community. It's a tricky balancing act finding the time for external causes versus running a business for one's livelihood, but the intangible rewards make it worth the occasional sacrifices involved.
